We offer 24/7 admissions. Our admissions team will guide you through the process whenever any question arises. Here is some general information to get you started.
Admission for post-surgical treatment or rehabilitation
If you have a planned surgery that will require recovery time or rehabilitation, talk to us in advance to reserve a room and complete all the necessary paperwork. When you arrive, all you’ll need to focus on is your recovery.
Here’s what you can bring with you to make your stay as comfortable as possible:
- Comfortable clothes (including exercise gear and athletic shoes/sneakers)
- Pajamas, robe, and slippers
- A favorite blanket or pillow
- Toothbrush, soap, shampoo, etc. (We do supply these, but you are welcome to bring your personal favorites instead.)
- Items to help pass the time, such as reading material, knitting, etc.
- A laptop, tablet or smartphone to stay in touch with friends and family
Admission for long-term care
We pride ourselves on creating a welcoming and comfortable place to live with amenities and activities that help enrich and enhance your life. Of course, you’ll want the items listed above. And, because this will be your home, we want you to personalize your space as much as possible. This may include family photos, mementos, etc. Anything that can fit comfortably in your room without interfering with your care is encouraged.
Insurance and payment
Riverwood Health and Rehab Center proudly accepts Medicare, Medicaid, and a wide variety of Commercial Insurance.
Our skilled admissions staff will be happy to verify and explain your benefits.
Medicare
Medicare may cover a portion of your stay. Typically, Medicare covers those needing a skilled level of care for up to 100 days. Each benefit period is based on a wellness period and a qualifying hospital stay. Our Business Office Manager will be happy to explain the coverage benefits.
Medicaid
Medicaid is a state program that may cover your long-term stay or coinsurance portion of your stay, Benefits are based on both clinical need and financial qualification. While the application process may be confusing, we are here to help. Our Business Office Manager will assist in completing and filing the application.
VA
Veterans may be eligible to use their VA benefits to help cover the costs of long-term care services at Riverwood Health and Rehab Center. To qualify, veterans typically need to meet specific service requirements and financial criteria. Our knowledgeable team can assist veterans and their families in understanding these benefits and navigating the application process to ensure they receive the support they’re entitled to.
Insurance Information
Many insurance companies will cover your short-term stay at our facility. Each insurance company can have multiple plans or policies and may cover different levels of care. Please contact your provider directly to ensure proper coverage.
